Hard Chess You know Minecraft. You know survival. But have you ever tried beating Minecraft while the game constantly reminds you that every single step could be a mistake? Hard Chess is a singleplayer datapack for Minecraft Java Edition 26.3 that turns a normal Minecraft playthrough into a long, difficult and deliberately frustrating challenge. The goal is still the same: survive, gather your resources and defeat the Ender Dragon. Getting there, however, is anything but normal. A Minecraft where every step matters Hard Chess does not simply make the enemies stronger. It changes the way the entire game is played through several restrictions that are activated when the challenge begins. 1. Restrictions a) Darkness b) Blindness c) Hunger These three effects are treated as one combined restriction and can be disabled together in the starting area. 2. A stopwatch The moment the challenge begins, a stopwatch starts running. How long will you need to finish Minecraft under these conditions? 3. Blaze Rods are suddenly valuable The initial Blaze Rod drop chance is only 1 in 25 . There is a marked location in the starting area. Every Diamond Block placed there improves the chance by 1: 1/25
