Damietta/ دمياط In Egypt early 13th century
by MVNDICRAFT MEDIEVAL · 2026-09-07 · Maps

This is a downscaled version of the city of Damietta. Great care was put into researching the style of the buildings, this is by no means a 1 to 1 reconstruction. We made sure to give the city and authentic feel when it comes to the architecture and made sure to scale things accordingly. This was an important port city which was vital to controling sea routes in the eastern mediterranean current events do show us how important such things are. We felt that this was important to create as there are no well known historically authentic north africa cities as far as we are aware. I would like to thank our lovely builder team which helped us achieve this result. The city features : A hammam, Fatimid era fort, a 9th century mosque, a coptic church, an old church converted into a mosque with a double minaret design, port, ship yard, partial sewage, rich merchant villa, souk, saintly tomb, suburbs, fields, groves and a proper road system, a bazar and the governor's palace with curated gardens.
