It was a WWII-era 6×6 aircraft crash/fire-rescue truck built on a Sterling Motor Truck Company chassis for the U.S. Army Air Forces/Army Air Corps. Sterling supplied the chassis and enclosed cab, while Cardox installed the specialized firefighting body and suppression equipment.
